Individualized Speech Therapy
For Your Needs
Stuttering Therapy For Every Age
Stuttering therapy is all about meeting you where you are.
For kids, we use fun, play-based sessions that involve parents to weave strategies into daily life. Teens and adults focus on speech control, fluency techniques, and building self-advocacy skills.
All therapy programming begins with an assessment to determine what therapy techniques will best support your goals.
Effective Communication Skills For Adults
Effective communication is about confidence and clarity.
Our adult therapy concentrates on real-world communication skills. We'll work on starting and maintaining conversations, refining public speaking abilities, and building stronger connections in your community.
Every therapy plan begins with an individual assessment before we develop strategies to boost your communication skills in social and professional situations.
Your next steps to fluent expression:
1
Introduction
First, we’ll have a friendly phone call to discuss your needs and answer any questions you have about speech therapy. It's all about ensuring we're a great fit for each other.
2
Assessment
Together, we'll review your history and goals, collect speech samples, and try out some strategies. This helps us craft a personalized plan that feels just right for you.
3
Ongoing Support
In each session, we'll focus on your progress and adjust as needed. As you reach your goals, we'll decide on the next steps – whether that's wrapping up or scheduling check-ins.

The approach we use during your therapy sessions will depend entirely on your needs and goals, but here are a few of the common strategies that may come up:
Fluency Shaping: This approach focuses on changing speech patterns to prevent stuttering. It includes strategies like slowing speech, managing breathing, initiating and moving through speech in an easier manner, and managing tension. Self-talk and the emotional side of stuttering is covered in conjunction with fluency shaping.
Stuttering Modification: This method focuses directly on managing and modifying stutters to reduce their severity and any associated negative feelings. We work to stutter in an easier way so that you can move through your message.
Embracing Stuttering: Some clients prefer to embrace and own their stuttering pattern, while working to stay authentic and say what they want, if stuttering is present or not. Self-advocacy is an important theme here.
Articulation Therapy: This approach targets specific speech sound errors. We’ll work on correctly producing individual sounds before practicing them in words, sentences, and conversations.
Confidence Building: For all speech challenges, we’ll work on reducing anxiety and increasing your confidence while communicating. We’ll reshape self talk, manage nerves, and practice real-world scenarios to help you feel more comfortable when speaking.
